Laura Maristany
Founder & CEO
Laura is a seasoned advocate, community builder, and impact-driven leader with over 20 years of experience in philanthropy, corporate and external affairs. As the Founder & CEO of Prospera Insights LLC, Laura helps organizations grow and scale by aligning services, products, and resources to advance community empowerment through strategic consulting and her technology startup, Katch Skills.
Laura has raised millions to advance transformative movements and missions in tech talent pathways, higher education, workforce development, and science and technology. She has designed and led programs that have trained thousands of elected officials and their teams, equipping them with the tools to lead with vision and efficacy. Her extensive network includes relationships with decision-makers across the country, enabling her to drive impactful collaborations and initiatives.
A seasoned advocate with deep Capitol Hill and policy expertise, Laura previously served as Associate Director for Constructive Politics at the Democracy Fund, as chief federal advocate and Director of the Washington, D.C. office for the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO), and as Executive Director of Legislative Affairs for the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU). In these roles, she spearheaded legislative agendas, cultivated relationships with government entities nationwide, and worked on policies spanning science and technology, education, workforce, housing, and more.
Laura’s contributions have been recognized with the Grand Cross of the Order of Civil Merit, bestowed by the Spanish Crown, and she is a 2018 German Marshall Fund Memorial Fellow. She serves on the board of directors for Welcoming America and as an advisory council member for Future Caucus' Leadership Development Council and Representative Democracy.
Laura holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez and a master’s degree in international commerce and policy from George Mason University. She is a dynamic and adventurous mother to Vittoria and Elio, and cherishes her role as a partner, daughter, and friend. When she has a moment to unwind, she enjoys staying active, pretending to ski, and sailing along the stunning beaches of Puerto Rico.
